The PCS Landing Pad
The whole move, in one kit.
Built for the week you cannot think.
Everything on this site is free and stays free. This is the version you print, carry, and hand to the crew standing in your driveway.
What is in it
Seven things. Every one built for a specific bad day.
- 01Your ninety-day calendar
Generated from your report date. Thirteen dated milestones, from orders in hand to the day your claim window closes. Exports to your actual calendar.
- 02The pack-out card
One page. Printed. On the fridge. For the longest day of the move, when the crew is waiting and you are being asked to sign something you have not read.
- 03The entitlement worksheet
Every allowance, the form it lives on, and the block it goes in. Because there is no checkbox that says pay me DLA, and a blank block is never paid.
- 04The claims kit
What to photograph and from which angle. What to write on the inventory sheet before you sign it. What to note at delivery, that day. And the deadline, calculated.
- 05The school transfer packet
What the receiving district owes your child under the Interstate Compact — and the honest limits of it, including who it does not cover.
- 06The vendor questions
What to ask a moving company, and how to check the answer against the federal record yourself in about ninety seconds.
- 07A reply line that is a real person
Reply to the delivery email with a question about your move. That is included, and it is not a chatbot.
Why it exists
Nobody will ask you if you want your money.
You write it in yourself.
Dislocation Allowance is flat, non-taxable, and paid once per move. An E‑5 with dependents draws $3,548.02 in CY2026. Leave a dependent off Block 12 and the same move pays $1,158.60 less.
The loss and damage claim window is 12 months from delivery. It closes quietly. Families find the broken thing in month nine, mean to deal with it, and then it is month thirteen.
None of that is secret. All of it is written down somewhere nobody hands you.
Every figure in the kit carries its source. If we could not source it, it is not in there.
What it is not
A short, honest list.
It is not the free tools. The calculator, the carrier check, and the cost comparisons are free forever and they do not get worse so this looks better.
It is not legal or financial advice. It is a checklist with receipts. Confirm anything you rely on with your finance office, your career counselor, or your own service regulation.
It is not a subscription. One payment. No renewal, no upsell sequence, no card on file.
And it is not a PDF of things you could have found.
If it were, it would be worth nothing, and it would be reviewed accordingly.
The price
Delivered in full, immediately. Nothing is dripped. You paid; it is yours.
If any part of it does not hold up, reply to the delivery email and tell me which part. I would rather fix it than keep your ninety-seven dollars.
Questions
Straight answers.
Why is so much of this site free?
Because a family in the middle of a move needs answers from someone who is not selling them something, and because I am a broker — the way this pays for itself is that some of you eventually want a broker. Most of you will not, and that is fine. The tools stay live either way.
Do you sell my information?
No. Not to a mover, a lender, an appraiser, an inspector, or a title company. Not ever. And nothing you type into the plan tool leaves your browser at all — it is saved on your own device and sent nowhere.
Does anyone pay you to recommend them?
No. No paid placement, no sponsored listings, no marketing services agreements, no referral fee from any vendor. That is the only reason the carrier verdict is worth reading.
Does this work for a separation or retirement?
Yes. Same entitlements, same voucher, same claims window. One difference worth knowing: the Interstate Compact protections for school transfers cover active duty and medical retirements — an ordinary twenty-year retirement is not covered. The packet says so plainly and tells you what to do instead.
The rates change. What happens in January?
DLA is republished every January. The site raises a stale-rate banner automatically and the kit is updated. You do not pay again.
Are you a financial advisor?
No. I am a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina. This is a checklist with citations, not advice. Confirm anything you rely on with the office that actually owns it.
